Degree year 3 sem 3 Project 1 (Jan. 2021 - Apr. 2021)
Site Analysis Group Member: RAR 3 @ 2021 (📎)
A group site analysis (with urban intervention) on the chosen site in Bangsar has been conducted virtually, including interviews with selected stakeholders. A basic feasibility study on the proposed programme further strengthens the individual proposal, which is PAM Learning Hub.
Introduction
Bangsar is a unique location for the final design project, located close to the bustling heart of Bangsar yet accessible to the older, residential parcels of Bangsar with its strong-knit communities. It is also home to various commercial, industrial and public facilities, contributing to a quiet but strong creative energy. This first project requires exploring and learning more about its history, communities, and potential found in this site, which encourages PAM Learning Hub design search possibilities.
The site is near to the current PAM Centre, easily accessible by public transport via the Bangsar or Abdullah Hukum LRT Stations. It is currently occupied by the multipurpose hub repurposed from a defunct printing factory. As part of the site analysis, it includes an analysis and summary of the issues related to the PAM Centre and the site contexts, history and future planning through interviews and literature reviews.
